For Stylinmommy’s very first review I figured I’d start with your basics. Every mama knows that your Baby’s ride is uber important. Not only is having a good stroller crucial to your baby’s comfort; it can make or break your trip out. And no mama wants to be tearing her (already shedding) hair out in frustration over a simple trip to the grocery store.
Brand: Uppababy GLuxe 2011 Umbrella Stroller in Jake (black/white)
MSRP: $199 approx.
Key Features:
- Weighs in at 11 lbs, the lightest umbrella stroller on the market
- One handed folding
- Stands upright when folded (no dirt! yay)
- Infinitely adjustable seat back
- SPF 50 extendable sun canopy
- Suitable from 3 months to 50 lbs
I Love It Because: Cup holder (great for popping in bottle), ample canopy, handles like a dream with one hand free to hold that crucial Starbucks, manouveurs easily in small spaces, can fit into trunk of car with no problem leaving ample space for shopping
But I Wish It Had: Padding along the sides for active kidlets that like to move their heads around, larger shopping basket underneath, an easier way to adjust seat recline (right now you fiddle with two strings in the back), snack tray
So, Reco or No? I would say YES. We started out with a full size stroller that came in two separate pieces which was a pain every time I had to load in and out of car. While it definitely was more comfy for baby and better for a newborn, once Baby H was 7 months, we totally switched the whole way to Uppababy. This might not be the best for a full-day outing at the zoo but for everyday running around, it gets the job done in style and with minimal sweat off mama’s brow! I recommend picking up the rain cover that goes with it – we’ve only had to use it once so far but it provides almost complete coverage and has a handy flap on the top. The Uppababy G-Luxe provides a convenient, light and stylish ride for Baby – it has been on backorder at many Toronto stores for a few months now but if you can get your hands on one, go for it!
